Yesterday was such a lovely day, I felt a lot of love and was in a great mood. The night before I stopped off at my local casino with my $100 bankroll. I like playing slot machines and that night, I was
there for about 3 hours playing dozens of machines on my bankroll. I had really good luck with most of the machines I played and was able to walk away with $190, well…$170 in cash and $20 worth of scratch offs and won back $8 from the scratch offs so my grand total was $78 in profits from my night out.
I bought myself two bouquets of flowers, one was a mix and they are so pretty. The next day I saw these gorgeous orange color roses and I couldn’t help myself. They just looked so healthy and the shade of orange was perfection. I normally buy pink hues, perhaps my favorite, many different shades of pink but very fond of the hot pink varieties. I got them and mixed the two bouquet together for my arrangements. I spent the early part of the afternoon arranging the flowers in my two bigger vases, I think it’s the creative outlet that brings me so much joy, I love making things look pretty! I want to get a nice crystal vase that flares wider at the opening so the flowers can have room to spread out but I also want it to have slightly wider body and base to hold more water and stems. Let me go find some on amazon that is what I’m seeing in my head…
This one is pretty nice and wide, it’s a nice happy medium between the 4 I had looked at: Nachtmann Saphir 11.8″ Crystal Vase
I like the look of this one but the base seems too narrow, if you look at the customer pictures, people try to jam in so many stems and it’s too packed inside the glass, those bouquets would suck up all the water in a matter of hours. I really like how wide the top is though: Lorren Home Trends Crystal Laurus Vase 11″
I really like the etching on the glass of this vase. I appreciate the measurement shown on the base in their pictures, I wish the opening was 7-8″ wide but very pretty: CS Crystal Vase 12-inch high, Sunshine Design
Now if we go high end, this one is pretty and very flared at the opening for a dramatic arrangement look, I’m not sure how wide that base is though. Very pretty and very expensive: Waterford Lismore Diamond Vase
Sometimes I like to walk around Home Goods store to look for interesting items and have seen some nice vases there, never came home with one, usually walk out with a bunch of interesting spices and salts.
I snapped a bunch of pictures of my bouquet from all angles. Today the roses are opening up more and 2 of the 3 lily bulbs have opened up.
This picture on the left was taken today with the roses opening up more. Soooo Pretty! I have 6 roses that I set aside
specifically to be use for drying of the blooms with silica gel to preserve them in its prime and using the stems to root for growing into a rose bush. I’ve done it before and the stems don’t always take. I had two successful attempts that resulted in rooting and foliage growth so I gave them to my mom to grow in her yard this year, one of the bushes is getting a rose bud, so exciting. I have no idea what color it is, I had labeled them but like I said, not all of them took and I stuck in new stems and got lazy with labeling so it will be a surprise. I’m sure it will be pink, just not sure which shade.
The orange color here is such a happy color, I love orange, that was my favorite color as a kid. I’m going to create the perfect environment for these stems to take root, I really want to grow these color roses when we move and get a yard! But I seriously love all the colors, seeing all the colors in this bouquet fills me with so much joy and happiness, I’m glad this world is filled with vibrant colors!
After I got the flowers all situated, I chopped up the ingredients for my version of a Cobb salad. The only thing I forgot was the blue cheese crumble, no big deal. I have romaine lettuce and spring mix, tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, cucumbers,
hard boiled egg, avocado, and
of course, bacon! I also cooked some chicken leg quarters in the air fryer and chopped that up after it was done for my protein source on this massive salad. I ate it for two different meals, it was fantastic! Oh yeah, cashews, I love nuts! I dressed it with some olive oil and apple cider vinegar and a healthy sprinkle of Maldon Salt. I love that stuff, the large flake sea salts are soooo tasty on practically everything that salt can go on. The flakes are pyramid shaped if you can get one in tact, let me see if I can find one and snap a pic. Even my husband loves to pick up the flakes off his plate with the air fried potatoes I make him and he mentioned how good the potatoes are with the salt flakes. Men don’t usually freely offer feedback so it must have made a big impression on him.
After lunch, I watched the stock market for awhile into the close. Maybe this is why the day went so great, I wasn’t sitting here all day watching price action, I was just doing things I want to do. I have a love/hate relationship with trading. I love the idea of it and I want to be the greatest trader in the world but I hate sitting here putting in my screen time everyday when I long to do more creative things. I like the idea of the freedom trading could give me when I get good at it but it isn’t easy and I honestly can’t say I’m profitable at this point. This is a different topic
for another day.
I actually don’t drink alcohol at all anymore for over a decade now but I still like using cute glasses to drink out of, I got these lovely gold rimmed martini glasses recently
and they are perfect for a cocktail feel without the actual alcoholic cocktail. What I have here is an electrolyte concoction I made up with orange flavor electrolyte powder, tiny bit of beet root powder to give it that reddish tint, lime juice, squirt of stevia, and distilled water. Shake it all up in my blender bottle and I pour it over some frozen blueberries in the glass, sometimes I dilute it with some very chilled water in my favorite Zulu water bottle. It’s so tasty and totally low carb!
So right after the market closed, I decided I would run a bath. I had cleaned the tub spotless the other day and wanted to set it up really
romantically. I used to make a lot of fizzy bath bombs and I put one in and it made my water light orange color, I added some magnesium salt flakes, and a handful of dead sea bath salts in rose and lavender scents. I finished it off with some dried rose petals, and lit some votive soy candles in these gorgeous blue votive holders I had gotten recently, so very pretty, I love blue!
I stayed in the bath for 2 hours, I kept adding hot water! Oh, the tub spout water filter works
so great, I put a filter on the sprayer part and used to fill the tub
with the sprayer since I hate the smell of chlorine in the water and all the chemicals they put into the waters here. I was able to easily and quickly fill the tub with this new filter, it just hangs off the spout, you can see it in the first pic of the whole tub, it’s on the left side. There was no chlorine smell as it was filling up and my skin didn’t feel irritated at all, just soft and nourished.
I had music playing, some cool refreshing water in a pretty glass to sip on, and my phone to play games on or peruse the forums or watch videos, it was so relaxing and peaceful.
Sometime this week I also did a facial and painted my nails, I love self care. Self care goes a long way to making me feel more feminine and confident, I highly recommend it if you want to live the ideal life. Maybe this is why I felt a nudging to put out this post, this is the direction I want to take this website.
So I’d like to keep that on the forefront of my day and ask these following questions and askfirmation statements:
- Why is my life so ideal today?
- What would my day look like living the ideal life today?
- Why is my life filled with so much love, peace, creativity, and joy?
- What are at least 5 things I’m really good at and appreciate about myself?
- Why is my life filled with so much abundance, love, and beauty?
Sure it is always nice to be spoiled by someone else but I’m also very capable of spoiling myself and probably even better at spoiling others. This was a really good day, much needed relaxation and peace. Enjoy the pics, I’m going to be interweaving a lot of pics on all posts moving forward, hopefully they are aligned and isn’t too messed up with the words mixed in. I write a lot, it’s a creative outlet and my style is more conversational, stream of consciousness.
